This summer the NOAA Environmental Science Training Center in Oxford, Maryland will host a Teacher Professional Development opportunity for elementary school teachers (Grades K-5) that connects locally relevant watershed science across the curriculum.  The workshop is designed to address and support the implementation of core components of the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and Meaningful Watershed Education Experiences.

Earn $225 and (1) CPD credit for attending!

We strongly encourage you to come with a partner (or two!) from your school!

Join us this summer to:

  • Learn how to integrate key ocean and estuarine concepts of the NGSS into your curriculum in ways that relate to your school's location in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed;
  • Learn about new lessons and resources that you can bring back to the classroom;
  • Increase your knowledge and confidence level for teaching science content;
  • Improve your students' science processing skills;
  • Sharpen your questioning/investigation skills;
  • Turn interruptions into teachable moments;
