AWISNJ MedHealth Challenge

Hardwares like Arduino are changing the field of medical device development. Since these publically available designs can be studied, modified, distributed, made and sold by anyone, they are promoting public interest and innovation in ways never seen before by traditional methods.

The Association for Women in Science, New Jersey chapter is organizing the MedHealth challenge in partnership with STEAM Works Studio to encourage middle and high school females to be part of this revolution. We want you to explore these opportunities (using Arduino or other hardwares) and start thinking about applications in the Medical/Healthcare field. Examples include, but not limited to:

  • Patient Tracking Devices
  •  Wearable Projects
  • Physiological monitoring/ e-Health sensor platforms
  • Surgical Robot
  • IOT based healthcare systems
  • Automated DNA extraction

Who Can Participate?

Individual females or teams led by females who are residents of New Jersey and attending/are eligible to attend grades 6-12 in New Jersey Schools.
