Hardwares like Arduino are changing the field of medical device development. Since these publically available designs can be studied, modified, distributed, made and sold by anyone, they are promoting public interest and innovation in ways never seen before by traditional methods.
The Association for Women in Science, New Jersey chapter is organizing the MedHealth challenge in partnership with STEAM Works Studio to encourage middle and high school females to be part of this revolution. We want you to explore these opportunities (using Arduino or other hardwares) and start thinking about applications in the Medical/Healthcare field. Examples include, but not limited to:
Who Can Participate?
Individual females or teams led by females who are residents of New Jersey and attending/are eligible to attend grades 6-12 in New Jersey Schools.
Challenge Key Dates
Registration & Project Synopsis Submission: Till November 30, 2017 (5:00pm eastern Time)
Review of Entries: December 1-14, 2017
Announcement of top 20 teams: December 15, 2017
Final Conference and Winners Announcement April 1st, 2018
