The Anatomy of a Blindside Workshop.

April 4, 6.30-8.30 PM

How do hard working talented women get set up to fail?

The workplace is a highly politicized environment where key decisions about who gets ahead, who gets the plum assignments, and who gets the scarce resources are not just decided on merit. There is often a power grid, that is so hidden and buried that women don’t even know it exists and because they don’t know it exists, they can accidentally get blindsided.

Lack of access to informal networks and critical information puts women at a distinct disadvantage in not knowing the “rules of the game” and not receiving information in a timely manner. Promotion is the tool for access to the informal networks that control the decision making process and political savvy is the skill to build allies and bridges to the key stakeholders.

In this workshop, attendees will learn how to avoid the blindside by:

  •  Embracing the politics to get ahead and stay ahead.
  •  Mapping the power grid: Identifying the key stakeholders and rating their influence
  •  Using 3 critical tools to become politically savvy and position themselves for success.
