Operation Christmas Child Box Packing Party
Join us for breakfast for dinner and service project with Operation Christmas Child.
We will be eating dinner at 5:30, then watching an Operation Christmas Child video to show the children about the conditions of those we are packing the boxes for, then we will create a giant assembly line, where we all work together at each station to pack the boxes. We will also have an opportunity to write a quick letter to the children who are receiving the boxes.
We will be serving Breakfast for dinner for $5 per person/$15 maximum. You do not need to eat dinner in order to participate in the box packing. Registration for dinner is required.
All Classes and Programs will begin at 7pm that evening.
There are 3 age groups that we will be packing boxes for: Boys & girls ages 2-4, boys and girls age 5-9 and boys and girls age 10-12. Here are a few ideas of what to bring. Please remember, it must be able to fit into a shoe box.
- Hygiene Items (toothbrush, toothpaste, Ivory soap (in a plastic bag), comb, washcloth, etc)
- School Supplies (pens, pencils and sharpeners, crayons or markers, stamps and ink pad sets, writing pads or paper, solar calculators, coloring and picture books)
- Small clothing items (t-shirts, socks, ball caps, sunglasses, hair clips, toy jewelry, watches, flashlights (with extra batteries))
- Small toys (small cars, balls, dolls, stuffed animals, kazoos, harmonicas, yoyos, jump ropes, small Etch-A-Sketch, toys that light up or make noise (with extra batteries) Slinky, etc)
- Do not include: used or damaged items; war-related items such as toy guns, knives or military figures; chocolate or food; out-of-date candy; liquids or lotions; medications or vitamins; breakable items such as snowglobes or glass containers; aerosol cans.
**You may also bring a cash donation to help pay for the shipping of the boxes. It costs $7 a box to send it.**
Let's aim to send 300 boxes to 300 needy children this year!! :)
