For those who have taken Djembe Technique Workshop and would like to improve even more, this is just for you. We will take everything up a notch and fleshier tones, brighter slaps and easy bass. Our percentage of great sounds will go up! Alan will focus on not only the sounds but how they move ad sound in rhythm by playing in what westerners call in 4, 6 and in 12. It's all about music and we will get further along from playing a rhythm correctly to making it SING! More hands on drumming time - feedback and suggestions tailored to your playing. We hope you will join us and encourage you to do it!
Will it be fun? Oh yah! Learning needs to be fun and we will weave in an out of rhythms and apply our new techniques. We will also visit soloing and improvisation on the djembe, how to listen to all the drums around you and how to get in and out of your expressions.
Please bring a recorder and maybe a pen and paper. And your djembe or use one of ours! If you record the session, you will get a LOT more out of it. Many smart-phones will work fine.
