The Shelby County Public Library’s fourth annual Geek Gala and Spelling Bee will be held on Monday, September 30 at the Shelbyville Middle School (Dinner 6:15pm/Competition 7pm). Andrew Carne-bee is ready, are you??

We are looking for teams ...up to three spellers... to participate in the competition! Kids, if you think that you have what it takes to compete against the adults, bring it! (Spelling words will be taken from a list catered to adults.) There's no need to panic at the thought of standing at a microphone to spell. Teams will be on the stage at the same time with marker boards. All teams will be given the same word and have 30 seconds to consult with their team members. Teams will then WRITE THE WORD on the board for judges to see. Words will progressively get harder throughout the competition. If your team misses TWICE, you’re out.
