Wireless Safety Summit 

This 2-day Summit at Capitol Hill United Methodist Church in Washington DC is hosted by the Center for Safer Wireless and will focus on:

  • the latest research and developments in wireless safety
  • educating lawmakers and their staff regarding concerns for the health and safety of the citizens they represent
  • workshop sessions to collaborate towards protecting those most vulnerable to these microwave radiation exposures.

The meeting location is within walking distance of House and Senate office buildings.

Wednesday, October 5

On Wednesday, October 5 there will be presentations from scientists and medical professionals on the health effects of EMF, cell phone research, effects of microwave radiation on the heart, wireless safety standards and smart meters.

Later, participants will gather into groups and discuss issues of interest to them, such as concerns of patients, policy, and parents.

During the last segment of the day, there will sessions on a unified core message and “Taking Care of Us” in which participants will learn helpful techniques to benefit their health as they engage in advocacy.

Thursday, October 6

The second day will concentrate on the how-to and actually meeting with Congressional staff and Committees. Seasoned Washington, DC insiders will provide guidance before you meet with Congressional representatives. U.S. attendees will go to Congressional offices to share their perspectives in previously arranged meetings. Rep. Kucinich (D-OH) will give brief remarks on Sunday morning.

Due to a schedule change, Joshua Hart of Stop Smart Meters! will give a presentation in the afternoon about his organization's grassroots efforts to raise awareness of the reportted heatlh effects from smart meters.

Can’t Travel?

You can participate in the Summit online in real-time.  You will be able to watch live presentations and ask questions, just as if you were sitting in the audience. 

During break-out sessions, pick the topic of interest to you  and discuss the topic with other virtual participants via audio in a private on-line meeting room.

Even if you can't come to Washington, be sure to schedule a meeting with Congressional staff in the district office nearest you and be prepared to discuss your progress during the Summit.
