The Affordable Care Act and the impact on Small Businesses in 2015.  In early 2014, many small and medium sized businesses took advantage of an opportunity to postpone their 2014 group health insurance renewals until December 1st of this year.   This allowed more time to learn more about the changes in the law that would ultimately have such a huge impact on the plans that they were/are offering and to delay the inevitable rate increases that were expected as a result.

 Now that rates for December 1st renewals have been released, employers are scrambling to learn more about options or alternatives and are in need of more information in order to make informed decisions.  Every employer with less than 50 employees is required to become fully compliant with the Affordable Care Act as of Dec. 1, 2014.
