March 2019 Chapter Meeting

The NKBA Susquehanna Valley Chapter presents:

"Windows and Doors in Kitchen and Bath Design: How to Select the Best Options for Aesthetic and Performance"
(.1 CEU)

Presented by
Meg Connor, Executive Officer and

Kara Nies, Interior Designer and Project Manager, Studio 4 Showroom

Windows and doors are impactful elements in any kitchen and bath design. If they are not given careful consideration they can negatively affect what would be an otherwise aesthetically appealing and well-functioning design. In this presentation we will review several points of consideration when selecting windows and doors for kitchen and bath projects, and how to make educated decisions for the best outcome in design and performance.

During the presentation, you'll learn:

  • How to determine what type of window and door is the best fit
  • What type of glass and coatings should be used to get the best energy efficiency
  • What the best installation approach is for the window or door
  • What functional considerations will affect selections
  • What building code considerations will affect the window and door selection
  • How to use windows and doors as a layer of lighting in the design
  • How to use windows and doors as a design element
  • How to partner with a local window and door representatives and dealers
