Wilson Reading SystemŽ 

Introductory Workshop 

This 15-hour workshop examines the principles of multisensory structured language instruction, dyslexia, reading research and the five areas of reading in relation to students beyond grade two with persistent phonological coding deficits.

The Introductory Workshop provides practical application of reading research by examining the Wilson Reading SystemŽ principles of language structure.  Participants have the opportunity to plan a WRS lesson and practice procedures.

Upon Completion
Teachers are able to begin using the Wilson Reading SystemŽ in a reading class or small group setting in the regular education classroom.  However, teachers are not considered trained in WRS and are not eligible to charge fees for WRS tutoring.

The WRS Introductory Workshop fulfills the prerequisite for WRS training.

Upon completion, participants receive a 90-day membership in the Intestive Learning Community (NLC) of Wilson Academy.  The NLC provides printale materials, resources, and animated demonstrations of WRS instructional procedures, as well as a discussion board and chat room.  The NLC annual fee is $35.

Professional Development Graduate Credit
Graduate credit is offered through Fitchburg State University (FSU), located in Fitchburg, MA.

Participants interested in earning credit register directly with FSU after attending the workshop at www.fsc.edu/registration/wilson.cfm.

Dates:  December 2, 3 & 4, 2015

Times:  9 a.m. - 3 p.m.  (lunch break scheduled - lunch not included)

Tuition:  $559.00 ($509.00 if registered and paid by November 13th )
