Mastering the Matrix Class: Finding Passion

The Janurary class is full. Go here to sign up for February.

Kevin

Are you ready to take your skills to the next level, ward off burnout and move toward passion at the same time?

Would you like to seamlessly integrate all that you have learned during your career into one, easy to deliver package?

Would you like to almost always respond 'Toward' psychological flexibility (the ability to shift perspective and be fully aware of the present moment while choosing life affirming actions).

Would you like to learn in a warm, caring and friendly (and at times funny) environment?

During the Mastering the Matrix Class you will learn how to almost instantly respond to individual words and phrases to loosen ‘stuck’ stories.

You will learn how to 'hear' stuckness and respond to the stuckness with kindness, respect and compassion.

During the small groups you will bounce ideas off of fellow Mastering the Matrix students (and Kevin). Everyone will be listening for flexibility and deriving new psychologically flexible interventions. (Almost guranteed, we will create new interventions no one has thought of before. That's the nature of this work.)

Small 'Matrix' groups like this are like practicing with a jazz band; trying new riffs to make old songs sound even better, and then new songs emerge out of the process.

During individual training sessions you will hone your skills while discussing philosophy (Functional Contextualism and Mechanism), theory of language (Relational Frame Theory and Mentalistic Theories), and at the same time practice strategies for increasing psychological flexibility. The times of these private training times will be negotiated.

Plus, just in case you work in a “not so flexible” organization, you can tap into Kevin’s (Dr. Polk’s) noted organizational consulting skills to help you promote psychological flexibility in your organization.

After the first, intensive month of training, you can attend 8 monthly follow-up webinars to hone your psychological flexibility skills into Mastery.

During group consultation 1 we will review the Matrix diagram and connect it to the philosophy and theory behind the Psychological Flexibility Model (ACT).

Going back to the Jazz Music metaphor....

During class 1 you will be going from the basic song of the Matrix (which sounds great) and advance to “Music Theory” so you will know why the Matrix sounds so great to the human mind. Along the way you will be learning how to “hear” psychological flexibility, like a Jazz musician hearing music and improvising.

During session 2 you will deepen your knowledge of Functional Contextualism (FC) and Relational Frame Theory (RFT). We will also run through the ACT Hexaflex. Then you will learn why basic Sorting, Yes...Anding and staying in context eliminates the need for complexity such as the Hexaflex.

During group consulting 3 (and maybe in session 1 and 2) we will start the “Jazz Riffs” of the Matrix; taking what anyone says at any time and spinning it into a flexibility enhancing experience for everyone in the room. 'Spinning' psychological flexibility will become second nature to you.

Group consultation 4: Now we have reached the beginning of Verbal Aikido -- the ability to spin psychological flexibility during what others might experience as horrifically stuck situations. We will practice visualizing the process of flexibly responding to language.

Your two individual sessions will be devoted to filling in any gaps in your knowledge, answering your questions, reviewing “homework”, and more.

After the first month you will start your practice phase and you will continue to meet online with fellow students once per month to continue advancing your skills into Verbal Aikido.

Through all of this training, we will role play your clients, your presentations, and, well, any situation you want to role play. You can role play in session one, try out what we role played, and then discuss it in session two. Whatever works for you. The first month's webinar groups are kept small (maximum of six), so everyone has time to add in their stuff.

You can also just sit back and listen if you like :-)

This level and frequency of training would usually be at least $900.00 or more. However, given I’m just starting this up, the introductory tuition/consultation fee is only $397.00 if you pay in full at registration.

However, I realize that for many people that much money all at once is too much, and you can pay $50.00 per month for 9 months ($450.00). Still a 50% savings. If you would like that arrangment, email me (kevin@drkevinpolk.com) and we will set it up.

Each Matrix Master Class is limited to six participants (the 8 follow-up webinars will have a few more student).

All the classes, including the private ones, will be recorded and you will get a link to the recordings.

January "Jazz Sessions" are on the 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th at 5pm New York, USA time.
