The Green STEM Summit is completely free and features 15-minute Q & A sessions with STEM professionals. Plus, all teacher/mentor attendees will be automatically entered to win a special STEM prize! (Must be online during the announcement to claim prize.) All teachers, mentors, students, staff and volunteers must register to participate in the Green STEM Summit. Accommodations are limited, so register early!

VIRTUAL SESSION FORMAT
Mentors will register for a 15-minute Zoom session with students and be assigned to one of the six STEM tracks. Specific session discussion topics can vary but we ask that each mentor leave at least five minutes for Q&A with students. Mentors should introduce themselves, describe their educational and career background and any other specific discussion topic they choose to present. Mentors can share a presentation or other audio-visual materials or just virtually speak with the students.
In addition to the 15-minute session, mentors are invited to judge student videos for the STEM video competition on the SCEEC YouTube Channel. See details below.
GREEN STEM VIDEO COMPETITION!
Teachers, please encourage your students to participate in the Green STEM Video Competition and share their understanding of critical sustainability issues. Video topics should focus on using STEM to solve important sustainability issues including: climate change, natural resource conservation, recyclable materials, sustainable foods, biodiversity, water quality, Santa Clara River Watershed, or another STEM-related topic. Check out the judge's Video Tips and Rubric and for guidance. For more information on the video competition, contact julie.au@canyons.edu or tim.honadel@canyons.edu.
Deadline to submit video: October 16, 2020
SCEEC will categorize video submissions into each of the five STEM focus areas listed above, and prizes will be awarded in each: (1st, 2nd and 3rd in each - 15 awards!)
We encourage you to help judge the student STEM video competition on our YouTube channel. Thank you in advance for showing students how STEM-related business, government and academic careers can make a greener, more sustainable world, and for promoting Science, Technology, Engineering and Math!
