A Day with St. Luke Luke presented by Fr. John Costanzo

Retreat Description: This day will include an introduction and overview of the Gospel of St. Luke and will then focus on several of the the themes of the gospel: prayer and the Holy Spirit, the disciples and the role of women, the poor and material possessions, the strictness and compassion of Jesus, prophecy and fulfillment. The approach will not be lecture, but lectio divina, involving participants in prayerful reflection amd dialogue on passages that speak to these themes. Participants are encouraged to read the gospel befehand and bring a bible and a sack lunch (as lunch is not provided).

Fr. John Costanzo was born and raised in Gunnison, CO. After seminary studies in Denver and Louvai n,Belgium, he was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Pueblo in 1964. He served in parishes in Durang o, Pueblo, Grand Junction, Alamosa and a cluster of San Luis Valley churches. He also obtained a PhD in Relig ious Studies at Catholic University, served as Director of Religious Education and later traught scripture in the Diaconate Formation program in Pueblo. He also served as Rector of the American College, Louvain. Currently he is happily retired in Denver and does volunteer ministry.
