Adapting Internal Communications. The Covid-19 pandemic has called for a swift and sometimes drastic change in the way companies are handling internal communications. How has your company adapted? Share and hear internal communications successes, tips and next steps in this discussion.

Sample questions:

  • Has your company been successful in their internal communications?
  • How much communication can be planned, versus reactive right now?
  • How are you keeping in touch with their staff?
  • How is your company managing expectations within your team? (ex. When will things be back to normal?)

External Communications Strategies. Marketers have been busy rethinking the delivery of their customer-facing communications in light of the Covid-19 pandemic. What does success look like right now? Discuss how tone, messaging, timing and method of delivery have changed to meet the changing needs and attitudes of customers.

Sample questions:

  • What have been your most successful communications strategies?
  • What are the critical changes you’ve had to make?
  • What do we do when we can’t sell anything? (context: Demand has shrunk. When we start up again, it won’t happen all at once or right away – what are we doing about this? How are you checking in with clients? How are you staying connected with your clients during this time when you’re not selling them anything.)
  • How will this change the way you interact with your customers?
  • How is your company communicating to customers but not appearing too pushy/salesy

Great Leadership Through Crisis. Now more than ever, organizations need great leadership to protect their business, employees and customers. What does great leadership look like in the midst of a pandemic? Share stories of success in the area in the context of what this means for marketing and communications professionals.

Sample questions:

  • How have people’s attitudes changed?
  • How are you proactively planning? What are your suppliers doing to help transition through the time?
  • What do we do when we can’t sell anything? Demand has shrunk, when we start up it won’t happen right away – how are leaders planning for this?
  •  How are you checking in with clients to get a temperature on what is happening at their businesses?
  • What does this mean for marketing and communications professionals?

Post-Pandemic Expectations. Covid-19 is an unprecedented challenge to businesses and society. What are the long-term implications to marketers? Discuss changes to businesses, customer attitudes, staff expectations and how companies will rebound from this.

Sample questions:

  • How will this change the way you do business?
  • How have people’s attitudes changed?
  • What are we expecting when this is over – business side, human relations side, staff ready to work
  • What your company’s rebound from this look like?

Remote Teams and Working from Home. As companies throughout the country made an instant switch to working from home, entire teams are learning how to work remotely and people are trying to work in less-than-ideal situations. How can we make this transition as smooth as possible? Share best tips for managing remote team, working from home and digital meetings. Bonus: come prepared with your best video chat horror story.

Sample questions:

What are your best tips for working from home, working virtually, digital meetings, etc.

  • What strategies have you found successful in leading your team and keeping your team connected through this transition?
  • Are you/team members feeling disconnected/lonely? How are you dealing with that?/How are you helping you team to deal with that?
  • Do you have a conference call or video chat horror story?
