World Compliance/FCPA Blog Tour

Since 1977, U.S. companies doing business overseas have been liable to the sanctions imposed by the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. With the increasingly aggressive enforcement on the part of the Department of Justice, companies are under heightened scrutiny to comply. Is your organization ready?

WorldCompliance in association with Richard Cassin (FCPA Blog founder) and Michael Volkov, litigation partner with Mayer Brown, invite you to the WorldCompliance FCPA strategy planning session.

Register for the event

Join us May 12, 2011 at the Grand Hyatt Washington for an in-depth discussion of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. The event will focus on real-world situations which arise in the business world, including identifying risks and developing strategies for compliance while minimizing legal risks.  Hear case studies covering the myriad risks that exist with foreign subsidiaries, vendors and third party agents. Share your concerns with a team of experts with a variety of real-world experiences in FCPA compliance.

First segment
Richard Cassin will begin the presentation with an overview of the FCPA (Anti-bribery elements and the accounting provisions), its enactment and early enforcement efforts. He will follow with the latest news concerning modern enforcement, the impact of 9/11 and current national and international trends. He will conclude his presentation with a five to ten year outlook and how FCPA enforcement is reaching beyond the criminal justice system.

Second segment
Presented by Michael Volkov who will discuss specific cases, the complex investigations that evolve from said cases and the severity of the sanctions decreed. Ryan Morgan will conclude the segment with a discussion concerning strategies for implementing a systematic due diligence process and how to screen for entities, their family members and business associates.

This event is complimentary, but you must register as seating is limited.
